Our Unit offers a range of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture programmes, events and activities in support of your academic success. These opportunities enhance your student life at the university, giving a sense of belonging through building networks for interaction, formulation of meaningful friendship and relationships with peers outside of the academic environment. These opportunities build and profiles the image of the University of Venda through the support of both competitive Sport, Arts, Culture and Campus Recreational Activities. By achieving these meaningful social outcomes, you will be better prepared for the university student life challenges and peer pressure.

Functional Values
The provision of sporting codes is primarily for recreational purposes, but students who show excellence in competitive performance can be supported to transcend to the next level of competitive environment of sports, arts and culture competitions at all levels.
Univen Sport and Recreation Unit provide a wide range of clustered programmes listed below, with organized events and activities
Our sports clubs and teams are members of the different sports federations and bodies, and participate in the various leagues, tournaments and competitions at local, district, regional, provincial, national and international level. The University is also part of Universities Sport South Africa (USSA) and participate in the various winter and summer USSA national tournaments organized throughout the year. Students are continuously encouraged to participate in these various opportunities and towards the introduction of new opportunities or programmes.
