The University of Venda (Univen) received three exchange students from the University College Leuven and Limburg (UCLL), Belgium on 4 February 2018. The students are at the University for their Teaching Practice that will be ending on 11 May 2018.
The collaboration between UCLL, Belgium started in 2011, it has grown in leaps and bounds since it has started. This is agreement amongst UNIVEN, UCLL, Belgium, Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and Belgium Campus, Pretoria.

The students were accompanied to the District by Dr Segun Obadire, Acting Director International Relations together with their Mentors, Mrs Rendani Makhwathana and Mrs Shonisani Mulovhedzi. The students were introduced to Dr Tshiphiri Luvhimbi, Head Curriculum Adviser, District Department of Education who promised a continued support of the District for the programme. The students were taken to Tshishonga Primary School, Thohoyandou where they will be carrying out their teaching practice for the next four months. The pupils, teachers and Principal at the school were very excited and promised to give them the necessary support during their teaching practice.

Earlier, the students were introduced to the Head of Department, Early Childhood Education, School of Education, Prof Ndileleni Mudzielwana. They also met with the Dean for School of Education, Dr Peter Mulaudzi who encouraged the students to be hardworking, respectful and responsible. He advised them to inform their mentors about their movement all the time and report any problem encountered immediately. Students from UCLL (Loes, Sarah and Chiara) expressed their delight to be at the University of Venda and they promised to do their best to contribute to the improvement of the standard of education in the District.
