It has come to the attention of the University of Venda Management that there is a fake statement purported to be signed by the University Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Prof Bernard Nthambeleni. The University of Venda would like to caution all prospective students about the statement that is making rounds on social media platforms regarding guaranteed admission programme for 2024. This is FAKE news. It is worth reiterating that the statement purported to be signed by the Vice- Chancellor and Principal is not authentic.
The University Management urges prospective students to be wary of posts promising admission/placement at UNIVEN.
The fabricated statement reads: “Attention to all prospective students! University of Venda is thrilled to announce the launch of our exclusive Guaranteed Admissions Program for the upcoming academic year. This program is designed to offer admission opportunities to those who were previously on the waiting list or were unfortunately rejected, despite meeting the eligibility criteria.”
The statement continued to say: “We understand the importance of providing equal opportunities to all qualified individuals, and we are committed to ensuring that everyone has a chance to pursue their higher education dreams. To be considered for guaranteed admission, applicants must have achieved an APS of 23+ in their matric results. However, it is important to note that space is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis………….”
The designated Spokesperson of the University of Venda, Dr Takalani Dzaga says that the statement has not been issued by the University and that UNIVEN will never promise any placement, hence placements are conducted in a rigorous manner through well-established protocols.
