Univen studentpreneurs competed in the EDHE Intervarsity Northern Region that was held at the University of Limpopo on Friday, 19 July 2019. Univen student entrepreneurs were competing against the University of Limpopo and Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University studentpreneurs. Univen studentpreneurs won two out of the four categories of the competition namely Innovative Business Ideas and Existing Business with Social Impact, with the University of Limpopo and Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University each wining the remaining two categories respectively.
Each studentpreneurs was allocated three minutes to pitch their business idea and two minutes to answer questions from a panel of judges.
The purpose of the Entrepreneurship Intervarsity is to identify the top student entrepreneurs at each of the 26 public universities, recognise and showcase their businesses, and invite investment into this cohort of student businesses. The competition also provides an opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs in the ideation phase to pitch their innovative business ideas. The EDHE Intervarsity competition is divided into four categories namely Innovative Idea, Technology Business, Social Impact and General Business.

Ms. Zanele Shikwambana and Mr. Simon Maumela from UNIVEN are the winners of the Innovative Business Idea
Mr. Promise Nyalungu and Mr. Malapi Morifi from UNIVEN are the winners of the Existing Business with Social Impact.
Mr. Humbelani Netshithuthuni from UNIVEN pitching his Social Impact existing business (Netshithuthuni Holdings).
