Position Available: Postdoctoral Fellow in Renewable Energy Microgrid Systems Project Overview: We seek a dedicated Postdoctoral Fellow to contribute to our renewable energy microgrid project. The project focuses on optimizing the integration of generating, storage, and converting units to efficiently serve local loads. Key objectives include designing sustainable green hydrogen-based microgrid systems, assessing the technical feasibility and economic viability of integrating green hydrogen storage technologies, evaluating environmental impacts, and promoting community engagement and capacity-building activities.
The postdoctoral fellowship will be awarded on a competitive basis, considering the candidate’s academic achievements, potential as an independent researcher, and the extent to which s/he meets the requirements for the call.

Research Focus: The Postdoctoral Fellow will focus on advancements in hydrogen storage technologies for microgrid applications. This research will explore novel solutions such as solid-state storage materials, nanostructured electrodes, or chemical hydrides to enhance the efficiency, safety, and scalability of hydrogen storage within microgrid environments.

Requirements:

  • Comprehensive CV and cover letter with one or more referees
  • Academic transcript and certificates for all tertiary qualifications in Physics or related fields, with a strong inclination towards renewable energy power system design and simulations.
  • 45 years or younger
  • Sound knowledge of hydrogen fuel cell, photovoltaic, and waste-to-energy conversion technologies.
  • Proven ability to write and publish in accredited peer-reviewed journalsand project management.
  • Ability to supervise Master’s and Honors student research projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
