The Directorate of Community Engagement, Entrepre-neurship, Inclusive Innovation, and Commercialisation (DCEEIIC) welcomes Mr. Rudzani Bernard Mamphweli as a Community Engagement Officer. He has been ap-pointed in this position with effect from 01 June 2024.

Mr Mamphweli has a Bachelor of Social Work and BA Hons (Sociology) from the University of Venda. He also has a master’s in international development studies from Palacky University in the Czech Republic, made possible by the prestigious Erasmus Mundus scholar-ship. He is currently a PhD candidate in Sociology at the University of Kwazulu Natal. In August-September 2023, Mr Mamphweli represented the University of Venda in the Henan Training Programme for Young Prominent Leaders of South Africa, which was host-ed by the People’s Government of Henan Province in China.

Mamphweli has served as a Czech Aid sponsored intern that offered an opportunity for him to travel to Bosnia/Herzegovina in South-Eastern Europe where he learnt about monitoring and eval-uation of rural village-based projects funded by Czech Development Cooperation. Before joining the DCEEIIC, he was a Lecturer in Sociology.
He has been an engaged scholar with experience in community engagement, international/rural development, stakeholder mobilisation, communication and marketing, and project coordination. Additional services rendered are Senior Project Assistant (International Organization for Migration), DSI/NRF/UNIVEN Innovation Champion intern, Office Intern (German Development Cooperation).
Mr Mamphweli is looking forward to supporting the documentation, reciprocal interactions associ-ated with the University wide community-based projects-initiatives, for impact in society.
