The University of Venda is inviting interested qualifying property owners to apply for the provision of Accredited Student Accommodation for academic year 2022. The application process will be open from Monday 01 November 2021 and will close on 15 November 2021 at 12h00.
The applicant’s property will be considered if it meets the following requirements: • Compliance with National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act, 103 as amended in 1995 • Proof of non-refundable application fee of R1624-00, payable per property • Building plans as approved by Thulamela Municipality, in line with Building regulations • Proof of the property ownership • Certicate of Building Completion (COC1), (Incorporating all consultants’ consent that the building is complete for occupation) • Certificate of Compliance (COC2), (Issued by a registered electrical contractor as per DOL and OHS Act requirements conrming the building is completed and complies with OHS Act and other applicable legislations) • Certicate of Occupancy (COO) (Issued by the Municipality upon completion and subsequent to their inspection • OHS Legal Compliance or Certicate (Issued by an OHS Consultant) • Valid Tax Pin throughout the 2022 academic year • Proof of building insurance, minimum R5million for the entire 2022 academic year • Compliance with the University specified Security Requirements • Compliance with DHET policy on the minimum norms and standards for
student housing at Public universities of 2015.
The applicants are required to use the form that can be downloaded from the University website. It is mandatory that a non-refundable application fee of R1624.00 for prospective off-campus accredited residence owners be considered for accreditation, payable at the cashiers of the University OR to the University account:
Bank: ABSA bank, Account number: 1000 000 538, Type: Cheque, Branch: Polokwane, Payment reference: F0015615 and your company name. Proof of payment should be attached with the application form to be considered for evaluation for accreditation.
