It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Prof John Ogony Odiyo, former Dean of the School of Environmental Sciences, who passed on in the evening of Wednesday, 23 June 2021.
PROF JOHN OGONY ODIYO
Prof Odiyo will be remembered and honored for the incredible work he performed as a former Dean of the School of Environmental Sciences. Before becoming the Dean, Prof Odiyo served as Vice-Dean for three years and fifteen years as the Head of the Department of Hydrology and Water Resources at UNIVEN. He left UNIVEN at the beginning of this year to join Vaal University of Technology as Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research, Innovation, Commercialisation and Internationalisation.
The Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Dr Bernard Nthambeleni conveys his heartfelt condolences to Prof Odiyo’s family, friends, colleagues and all who knew him.
