About Oupa Malahlela
He graduated from the University of Pretoria with a PhD Geoinformatics, focusing on the remote sensing applications for malaria vector habitat characterization. His current research focus includes remote sensing and GIS applications in water, soil, invasive species, wetlands and rangeland mapping. He teaches third year and Honours modules including Climate Change (ERM3542), Resource Evaluation and Information Systems (ERM3541), Land Information Technology (ERM5541), and Environmental Impact Assessment and Modelling (ERM3641). He supervises and co-supervises a number of Honours and Master’s students.
