Tension(s) between Intersectionality and Positionality of a Community Engaged Scholar
Universities have always operated with highly restricted hierarchical epistemologies and ontologies… ‘the powerful (universities) have an unfair advantage in structuring collective social understandings’ (Fricker 2007:147).  Building on previous sessions that dealt with literature review, conceptual and theoretical framework (Professor MM Nkoane-UFS), as well as participatory re-search methodologies (Professor GS Mahlomaholo (UMP), Professor VO Netshandama will introduce the tension(s) between Intersectionality and Positionality of a community engaged scholar. This should be followed by a conversational about the making of a community engaged thesis and associated praxis at the crossroads of SA’s University-Community Context
